Senior Teaching Assistant - SEN All-Through School

Basingstoke / 32.5 hours per week / 39 weeks per year (term time + INSET)

Academics are working on behalf of a welcoming and well-established SEN all-through school in Basingstoke to recruit an experienced and confident Senior Teaching Assistant.

This is a varied and rewarding role that will see you supporting teaching and learning across the school. Responsibilities include covering whole classes during short-term teacher absence, delivering small-group and intervention support, and working closely with teachers across planning, assessment and pupil progress. You will also take on a senior role within the support team, providing guidance, mentoring and day-to-day support to Teaching Assistant.

Key responsibilities

• Supervising and covering classes when required
• Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff
• Leading and mentoring Assistant Teachers
• Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and independence

The ideal candidate will have experience working within an SEN or specialist setting, be confident managing behaviour, and be passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential.
