Reporting to the Director of Full Price & Concessions, the Senior Area Manager is responsible for owning, implementing and driving the strategy to deliver business values across the Full Price & Concessions Irish business. This role leads the retail business, identifying, formulating, and managing initiatives and efficiencies that support the business structure, strategy and growth.
Responsibilities- Drive all stores to align with the business directive and identify opportunities for commercial advantage.
- Support stores to deliver the business plan and assist in achievement through coaching and measurement of key milestones.
- Maintain flexibility across different brands and translate operational processes between brands as needed.
- Ensure store teams have clear objectives regarding staff scheduling and payroll in line with budgets and store trading patterns.
- Allocate time across locations to focus on individual store sales, operating income and internal issues.
- Communicate retail objectives at all levels and review processes with individuals and teams.
- Conduct effective store visits with a focus on targets and service, provide feedback to store management to drive standards and performance, and identify commercial opportunities at a higher level.
- Conduct regular country market trends and competitor activity analysis and use findings to inform commercial decisions with the Retail Full Price & Concessions Director and VP Retail Hub North.
- Drive General and Store Managers to ensure locations implement and maintain store housekeeping standards compliant with the Operations Manual, health and safety guidance, and merchandising best practices.
- Ensure all locations maintain equipment and systems to company standards and drive service standards through store teams.
- Maximise the shopping experience by fostering ownership and pride in the store environment; consistently achieve results higher than company expectations.
- Use KPI-driven insights to drive store profitability and sales growth; proactively manage payroll and controllable expenses; invest in areas that drive performance.
- Manage external contractors to reduce costs while maintaining high standards of work and service.
- You'll be a senior commercial leader within a successful retail business.
- You'll be comfortable running multiple sites across a country or multiple countries.
- You'll have strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships to collaborate to win.
- You'll have a proven track record of leading, coaching and developing teams to inspire trust and cultivate belonging.
- You'll be creative, commercially aware and a confident decision maker; you communicate with stakeholders and learn together with impact across all levels.
- You'll think big when creating country/channel strategy; look for trends internally and externally and make informed decisions using multiple data points.
- You'll act with purpose, taking strategy from concept to reality with planning and milestones and share this with the Retail team(s).
- You'll advocate for service, connecting to the consumer and making decisions with the customer in mind.
- You'll adapt fast in a changing retail landscape and implement a new, structured plan.
- You'll set clear expectations for all team members in line with company standards and manage performance effectively.
- You'll be an excellent communicator, able to convey complex information across multiple levels from Associate to Leadership team.
- You'll be comfortable with regular travel in-country and across the Hub North area.
