Our client, a leading global financial & professional services organisation, is seeking an exceptional Senior Architect to join their technology team based in London. In this role, you'll define and drive architecture strategy in a Microsoft-centric, Azure-native environment, tackling real challenges like data fragmentation across Legacy systems, cloud optimisation, and regulatory compliance in a regulated sector. Working collaboratively with engineering teams and senior stakeholders to enable secure, scalable solutions that directly support business growth and operational excellence.

On-site requirement: 5 days on-site per week for first 3 months and then 3 days on-site thereafter.

The Role:

• Define and maintain enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and governance frameworks aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements (including FCA and data protection).
• Lead Azure Landing Zone design, networking (Hub-Spoke, Virtual WAN), PaaS services, identity (Entra ID), and integration patterns (Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management).
• Establish a robust data architecture strategy to unify disparate systems (Sage, Kantata, Concur), implement master data management, data governance, quality standards, and analytics solutions using Azure Synapse, Fabric, Power BI.
• Drive cloud cost optimisation (FinOps), Microsoft E5 licence maximisation, Power Platform governance, and migration from on-premises to cloud-native.
• Design security and integration architectures following zero-trust principles, Entra ID-based IAM, and multi-tenancy for platforms like the CSS portal.
• Chair architecture reviews, manage technical debt, promote IaC/DevOps, and provide technical leadership/mentoring.
• Present strategies and roadmaps to the Executive Committee, translating complex decisions into clear business value.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive enterprise architecture experience in financial services, professional services, or regulated environments (mid-sized organisations preferred).
• Deep Microsoft Azure expertise: Landing Zones, PaaS, Entra ID, integration services, cost management/FinOps, and M365/Power Platform governance.
• Proven data architecture success in complex, multi-system landscapes, master data management, governance, integration patterns, Azure data platforms (Synapse, Fabric, etc.), and AI/ML data foundations.
• Strong integration, application, and security architecture knowledge (API/event-driven patterns, zero-trust, regulatory compliance).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to influence executives and collaborate across teams.
