About the Role

Grade Level (for internal use): 11. The Team: Corporates Credit Ratings is part of the Global Ratings Services team, comprising analysts across financial hubs worldwide. We assess the creditworthiness of companies by analysing business risk, strategy, competitive position, and financial performance to produce opinions that support decision-making. What We're Looking For

We welcome candidates who demonstrate strong collaboration, analytical rigor, and the ability to integrate AI/LLM tooling into credit analysis within a governance framework.

Responsibilities
  • Team Contribution & Capability Building: Provide day-to-day guidance to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts; build capability in credit, data discipline, and tooling; promote values-led behaviours.
  • Drive consistency and scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption; strengthen trusted, repeatable insights.
  • Enhance AI-enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and suggesting lightweight automations that free capacity for analysis and relationship work.
  • Foster continuous improvement by removing manual steps without compromising governance or judgement.
  • Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases with governance-by-design and adoption support.
  • Core Analytical & Delivery: Lead end-to-end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high-quality analysis and timely delivery with clear accountability.
  • Own surveillance/updates for assigned portfolio; synthesise performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-useful insights and risk implications.
  • Support the integration of LLM tools/automation to accelerate workflows, followed by structured validation and refinement.
  • Prepare/review inputs, reconcile metrics, document assumptions/changes to ensure adherence to methodologies and standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare/review outputs ensuring clarity and alignment to sector frameworks and evidentiary standards; support model maintenance for robustness and repeatability.
  • Stakeholder & Market Engagement: Engage with external parties; craft client- and executive-ready stories translating complex data and research into clear narratives.
  • Advising within clear parameters; communicate complex information to convey S&P's analytical expertise and engage market participants.
  • Build trusted relationships through collaborative and adaptable delivery; maintain professional communication with stakeholders.
  • Risk Management and Operating: Adhere to methodology and data governance; escalate issues early with options/recommendations to protect integrity and trust.
  • Embed responsible AI use with approved tools/data; protect confidential information.
  • Support controlled automation/agent workflows, contribute to design requirements and tests, and train others.
  • Define guardrails for automation, identifying what can be automated versus what must remain human-led, especially for material risk calls.
Qualifications
  • Team Contribution & Capability Building: Ownership and execution maturity across multiple credits; strong collaboration and values-led behaviour; coaching to improve consistency.
  • AI fluency with judgment; ability to apply practical AI/LLMs/agents to workflows.
  • Core Analytical & Delivery: Strong credit/financial/risk analysis; experience embedding AI/LLMs into workflows; ability to learn data/automation tools.
  • Stakeholder & Market Engagement: Synthesis into concise narratives for senior stakeholders; clear written and verbal communication.
  • Risk Management and Operating: High standards for quality, traceability, and governance; sound judgment on responsible AI use; ability to contribute to scalable automation/agent workflows.
Additional Information

An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have three to five years of relevant work experience. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; a master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. Office requirement: employees are expected to work from the office a minimum of two days per week. Final-stage interviews may include in-person interviews at an S&P Global Ratings office before an offer is extended.
