Job Description
Responsibilities 
- Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary group of lawyers and legal officers, ensuring strong performance and professional development.
- Oversee and take responsibility for the delivery of high-quality, consistent legal advice and representation in adult social care matters.
- Personally manage and conduct some of the most sensitive and complex cases, often with a high public profile.
- Champion innovation and service improvement, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and value.
- Support recruitment, training, and mentoring to build a skilled, motivated, and resilient team.
- Represent the authority with confidence in court proceedings as well as at panels, boards, and committees.
- Work collaboratively with senior colleagues across the legal service to provide a joined-up, cost-effective legal offer.

- The Adult Social Care Team specialises in complex and rewarding work under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. The team advises on safeguarding, capacity, and community care matters, often representing the authority in the Court of Protection.
