Senior Accounts Assistant

Due to continued project growth and increased activity across the business, an opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team.
The RoleReporting into an experienced finance function, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a broad and varied position suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, working with high volumes of transactions and contributing to the smooth running of a busy accounts department.
Key responsibilities will include:- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Accounts payable administration and supplier account management
- Bank, supplier and account reconciliations
- Assisting with weekly and monthly payment runs
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting reporting processes
- Resolving invoice queries and liaising with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Supporting month-end processes where required
- General bookkeeping and accounts administration duties
- Assisting the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and financial tasks
You will be a practical, organised and proactive accounts professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a high workload with accuracy and attention to detail.
Candidates coming from construction, property, hospitality, retail, manufacturing or other SME environments will be particularly well suited, although applicants from any relevant accounts background will be considered.
You will ideally possess:- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable or Bookkeeping role
- Strong invoice processing and reconciliation experience
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- A commercial and questioning mindset with strong common sense
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Experience working in a busy SME or project-based environment would be advantageous
- Proficiency across accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Salary up to €40,000 depending on experience
