Senior Accountant - Statutory

Itron's Global Business Centre (GBS) in Cork handles International Accounting. The Senior Accountant reports to a County Controller Accounting Manager and supports one or more entities within EMEA. The role owns the timely preparation of local statutory financial statements, reconciliation from USGAAP to Local GAAP, compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory reporting, and acts as a key interface with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities- Prepare and document the entity's reconciliation from USGAAP to Local GAAP to support statutory financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and statutory and statistical/regulatory reporting requirements.
- Interface with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and review direct and corporate tax returns and tax provision calculations.
- Manage the local mandated chart of accounts where applicable.
- Review and post month end close and accounting transactions; conduct P&L and balance sheet account analysis, reconciliation, and resolution.
- Ensure financial records follow US and Local GAAP.
- Implement and maintain the integrity of all accounting transactions, including complex transactions, per agreed processes, procedures, and controls.
- Support SOX compliance and internal/external audits within GBS, working closely with advisors and auditors.
- Achieve service level agreements for high performance.
- Complete monthly and quarterly fluctuation analysis and reporting for Corporate HQ.
- Participate in continuous improvement by analysing accounting processes and proposing and implementing solutions.
- Build relationships with key support contacts in EMEA and the wider GBS team.
- Meet individual objectives and contribute to the achievement of the team's overall objectives.
- Perform ad hoc project work as required and be available for limited travel.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or similar).
- 3-7 years of experience in statutory financial reporting, ideally with strong French statutory reporting experience.
- Experience with regulatory or statistical reporting is an advantage.
- Experience in a fast paced multinational or audit firm environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Oracle or similar ERP systems.
- Competitive salary between €60,000 and €70,000 annually.
