Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer - Water Sector

At the start of AMP 8, we are seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Water team in the South of England. This role can be based at our offices in Brighton, Ashford, Kings Hill, or Southampton. You will grow our reputation within the local community and Water Business by providing mechanical design services for a range of projects.

You will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations.

You will be responsible for liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for projects and communities. You will also mentor and guide less experienced team members.

• You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject. Ideally, you will be Chartered (or on route to Chartership) or Incorporated, with experience in mechanical design.
• You will have experience producing technical outputs such as design specifications, sizing and designing pumping and aeration systems, schedules, reports, and be familiar with collaborative planning reviews and solution designs.
• You can provide engineering input and design outputs in collaboration with other disciplines, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
• Experience in the Water sector is advantageous but not essential; we are also interested in candidates with experience in energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors.
