Job Description
About the role

Connex education is recruiting for a flexible role teaching students who are not attending school. This role will be working with students who have an educational health care plan (EHCP) to create bespoke lessons for individual needs. You can work on a part time or full-time basis as you have the option to manage your own diary.

The student is a KS2 and diagnosed with profound Autism. This young person is no longer attending school therefore requires home tuition to work around communication and development. Experience working with Makaton is vital as the student is non verbal with poor interaction skills.

As a Home Tutor, it is essential that you have a dynamic teaching style and can identify areas of improvement required when working on a 1:1 basis.

Assignment Details

This role will start from the 5th May 2025 and will last until the end of the academic year.

Person Specification
  • QTS or equivalent.
  • Strong ability to engage and motivate reluctant learners.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Driving license (Preferred).
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to apply for a new one.
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations.
