SEND Teaching Assistant

Position

A specialist SEND school in Hungerford is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. The role is full time and works Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.

Hours & Pay

Daily pay rate £92.63.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students with learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
• Encourage communication and social development.
• Manage challenging behaviour and provide personal care where required.
• Create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual needs.

Requirements

• Previous experience working within a SEND school is essential. Candidates with relevant background such as care work, support work, residential care or youth work may also be considered.
• Patient, resilient, nurturing and passionate about making a genuine difference for children and young people with additional needs.
• Suitable for the position advertised and prepared to attend a face to face interview.
• Ability to provide an up to date DBS or willingness to allow the agency to process one on your behalf, in line with DfE guidelines.
• Accept that the post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 when working with children or vulnerable adults.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated. Salary will be dependent on your skills and experience.
