SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon. This role is available on a part-time (afternoons) basis, with the option of a full-time position for the right candidate. The position is to start as soon as possible and will continue for the full academic year.

This role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with complex needs. You will work closely with the child both within the classroom and in the school's specialist resource base, helping them to access learning and thrive in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's individual needs
• Support learning, engagement, and emotional regulation both in class and within the resource base
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher to deliver and adapt learning activities
• Support behaviour management in line with the school's policies
• Liaise with the SENCO and external professionals where required
• Follow the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies

Required Skills and Experience

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Proven experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally on a 1:1 basis
• A strong understanding of supporting pupils with complex needs, including behaviour and engagement strategies
• A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to learning support
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
• A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND and promoting inclusion

• £92.59 - £100 per day, equating to £18,049 - £19,500 per annum based on full-time work
