Job Description

Axcis Education is working closely with an alternative provision on the outskirts of Torbay to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Students largely have Autism and ADHD, and may also have Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health needs (SEMH).

Pay: £100-£115 a day Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 3:30pm Start date: ASAP or after Easter.

About the role

You will be helping pupils to access learning on a 1:1 basis, both at the school centre and on outreach (working with the student in a public space on a 1:1 basis). Your role is to build confidence and provide tailored academic support. Daily responsibilities may include supporting small groups and individual pupils with SEMH, assisting with classroom activities, supporting learning on a 1:1 basis, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to a calm, nurturing learning environment.
