Teaching Assistant

  • Hourly Rate: £16.35
  • Location: Pendle
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Start Date: 13th April 2026

Join our vibrant nursery team in Pendle as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This role is perfect for someone passionate about providing support to children with special educational needs (SEN), specifically those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to children with EHCPs, ensuring they engage effectively in activities and learning.
  • Work closely with the nursery staff to implement educational plans and strategies that cater to the specific needs of SEN children.
  • Assist in the development of social skills and positive behaviour among children by using appropriate reinforcement techniques.
  • Monitor and record the progress of children with EHCPs, providing feedback to teachers and parents to help adapt learning approaches as needed.
  • Prepare learning materials and environments that are safe and conducive to learning for SEN children.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to stay updated with the latest educational practices and standards for supporting children with special needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, particularly in supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements and adjustments needed for children with EHCPs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to professional development and learning in the field of special education.
