Job Description

Do you want to make a meaningful difference to young people who need the most support to re engage with education? This role is based within a values driven alternative provision that supports students who have struggled to succeed in mainstream settings due to SEMH needs and behavioural challenges. The school provides a highly personalized and nurturing environment, where the focus is on rebuilding confidence, developing emotional resilience and creating positive pathways forward. Staff in this setting understand that behaviour is a form of communication. There is a strong emphasis on trauma informed practice, restorative approaches and consistent adult support, enabling students to feel safe enough to re engage with learning.

In this role, you will
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils as a consistent adult presence
  • Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour for learning
  • Deliver targeted interventions and structured support sessions
  • Use de escalation strategies to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively
  • Encourage engagement with education and support long term personal development
This role is particularly suited to
  • Youth workers, mentors or sports coaches
  • Graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Education
  • Individuals who are confident, resilient and passionate about supporting SEMH needs

  • Pay: From £14.25/hour
  • Location: BS35
  • Hours/Working Pattern: Monday Friday, 37 hours per week INDBRI
