SEND Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a caring and committed SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Reading from September 2026. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils to enable learning, build confidence and develop socially and emotionally throughout the school day.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team.
• Support children with a range of additional needs, adapting your approach to meet individual learning and behavioural requirements.
• Provide personal care where required, supporting pupils with personal care needs in a respectful and compassionate manner.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient with strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Comfortable with providing personal care.

Compensation

Daily rate of £92.63.

This is a temporary position unless stated otherwise.
