Job Description
SEND Learning Support Assistant - Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing role starting ASAP 
This school provides a calm, structured and supportive learning environment where pupils benefit from clear routines, nurturing relationships and teaching that helps them feel safe, motivated and able to learn. Staff work collaboratively to maintain high expectations, and pupils respond positively to patient, consistent approaches that promote emotional regulation, independence and steady academic and social progress.
Duties as SEND Learning Support Assistant:- Provide full-time support for KS3 pupils with Autism, ADHD, MLD, social communication needs and some SEMH.
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to reinforce learning activities.
- Support pupils' communication, emotional regulation and engagement in lessons.
- Assist with structured interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Support the delivery of classroom activities through modelling, guidance and reassurance.
- Use positive behaviour strategies to promote a calm and safe learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff.
- Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil welfare at all times.
- Strong SEND experience is essential, ideally including Autism, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
- Confident supporting KS3 pupils with varied developmental needs.
- Calm, patient and resilient when working with challenging or complex behaviours.
- Able to build trusting relationships and encourage pupil engagement.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting pupil progress.
- Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil well being.
