South West / temporary / £14.26 - £18.00 per hour

The school in Bridgwater offers a highly structured and nurturing environment for pupils with an Autism Spectrum Condition and complex needs. We are seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join the team on a long term basis beginning September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Support children with ASD, sensory needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Implement consistent, tailored strategies to promote engagement and progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly ASD and complex needs.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Patient, calm, and child centred approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships and effectively engage pupils.
• Experience supporting communication and independence skills.
• Proactive and adaptable attitude.
• Registration will involve an enhanced DBS check, ID checks, and provision of professional references.
