SEND Lead (Maternity Cover)

The college is seeking to appoint a SEND Lead, to lead and oversee specific support for a caseload of students with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs.

This role is full-time, working 37 hours per week on a maternity cover basis. Day to day responsibilities include:

• Line manage a group of LSAs, ensuring that students with additional learning needs are supported effectively with timely and appropriate resources and intervention that builds independence and confidence.
• Complete appraisals and ensure ongoing monitoring of LSA performance.
• Effectively allocate LSAs to meet student need, providing accurate timetables to ensure efficient use of resources across all curriculum activities.
• Support the effective use of digital resources and assistive technology wherever possible, ensuring all students develop independence over time.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, academic managers and other professionals to support student needs.

• Minimum Level 2 SEND or SpLD qualification.
• Experience of supporting young people with SEND and/or additional learning needs.
• Experience managing a busy workload in an education setting.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workloads and activities, meeting deadlines in a timely manner.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week on a maternity cover basis. Interviews for this role will take place on site, at one of our college campuses in Weston super Mare, and the SEND Lead may be based at any Weston super Mare campus.
