Job Description
SENCO required for an ASAP start at a welcoming and supportive primary school in Walsall. Are you a qualified SENCO looking for a new opportunity? Do you have a passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and enjoy working with teachers, support staff and families to ensure pupils receive the right provision? This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified SENCO to join a friendly primary school on an ongoing basis.

As a SENCO, you will take responsibility for leading and developing the school's SEND provision, ensuring pupils with additional needs receive the appropriate support to make progress. The SENCO will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, teachers, Teaching Assistants, parents and external agencies to ensure effective provision is in place across the school.

This SENCO role would suit an experienced SENCO who has a strong understanding of SEND within a primary school setting. The successful SENCO must be qualified and have a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCPs and the processes involved in identifying and supporting pupils with additional needs.

The SENCO will play an important role within the school, providing advice and guidance to staff while ensuring pupils' individual needs remain at the heart of SEND provision.

Job Role:
  • Working as the SENCO within a primary school in Walsall.
  • Leading and coordinating the school's SEND provision.
  • Ensuring pupils with SEND receive appropriate support and intervention.
  • Overseeing EHCPs, reviews and statutory SEND processes.
  • Working closely with class teachers and Teaching Assistants to develop effective support strategies.
  • Monitoring the progress and outcomes of pupils with SEND.
  • Providing advice, guidance and training to teaching and support staff.
  • Liaising with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Supporting the identification and assessment of pupils with additional needs.
  • Maintaining accurate SEND records and ensuring statutory requirements are met.
  • Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop SEND provision.
  • Promoting high expectations and positive outcomes for pupils with SEND.
