Actual Salary:? £19,749.60 - £29,539.20 (M1-UPS2) + £3,000 welcome bonus

Hours: 24 hours per week (3 days - Tuesday-Thursday)

Aurora Severnside is a bespoke school for 11-16 year olds with SEMH needs, having taken the best elements of a mainstream school and the best elements of a special school to create an environment where young people can achieve their own goals and thrive in a future of their own choosing. We aim to prepare students for life beyond school, so further education and employability is truly at the heart of our culture and ethos.

The Role

Severnside School is seeking an experienced and passionate SENCo to lead our SEND provision and play a key role in ensuring every pupil receives the personalised support they need to flourish.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and child-centred specialist setting, where collaboration, inclusion and ambition drive everything we do.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, developing and maintaining outstanding SEN provision
• Managing the Annual Review process and ensuring accurate, up-to-date SEND records
• Supporting staff to deliver high-quality, personalised teaching and interventions
• Tracking and interpreting progress data to inform provision
• Working closely with therapies teams, parents and Local Authority colleagues
• Delivering SEND CPD and sharing best practice across the school
• Modelling excellent SEN teaching with a small classroom commitment

Essential Qualifications:

• SENCo qualification
• QTS

Essential Experience:

• Strong understanding of SEND practice and legislation
• Experience leading or contributing to SEN provision
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills
• Ability to work positively and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Desirable:

• Experience within a specialist setting
• Additional postgraduate training in SEN
