Job Description

POSITION: SENCO
PAY: Paid to Scale (in line with experience)
CONTRACT: Full Time & Long Term
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday
START DATE: January 2026
LOCATION: Waltham Forest, North East London

A forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest, North East London, is seeking an experienced SENCO to join their team on a long-term basis for the Spring Term only, starting January 2026. This role is ideal for an organised, skilled, and passionate SEND leader who can confidently oversee and drive high-quality provision during this fixed-term period.

About the role: SENCO

Lead and manage the school's SEND provision across all year groups
Coordinate support for pupils with a range of additional needs
Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
Oversee EHCP processes, reviews, and statutory responsibilities
Monitor pupil progress, interventions, and SEND outcomes
Support staff with strategies, differentiation, and pupil plans
Maintain accurate and compliant SEND records
Safeguard pupils at all times
Full-time & Long-Term role (Spring Term only)
January 2026 start
Primary setting located in Waltham Forest, North East London

The ideal candidate: SENCO

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required
NASENCo qualification preferred (or ongoing)
Strong understanding of SEND processes and statutory requirements
Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a similar leadership role
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Confident supporting staff, pupils, and families
Reliable, proactive, and committed to inclusive education
