Posted 7 hours 8 minutes ago by Teaching Personnel Ltd
Most of our referrals are for secondary aged pupils with SEMH and complex needs. These are young people who may have found mainstream education challenging and need consistent, skilled, and patient support to help them re engage.
This isn't a "turn up, deliver a worksheet, and leave" type of role.
It's about:
- Building strong, professional relationships
- Creating structured, safe learning environments
- Supporting both academic progress and emotional regulation
- Being a steady, reliable presence
- Minimum 10-15 hours per week
- Core hours typically between 8:30am-3:30pm
- Monday to Friday availability required
Consistency is key for our pupils and for the wider professional team.
What Matters (Beyond Teaching)Our tutors don't just teach they communicate.
You'll be responsible for:
- Accurate attendance reporting
- Monitoring and recording progress
- Providing updates that can be shared with schools and other professionals
- Maintaining clear, professional documentation
Your observations may directly inform EHCP reviews, school planning, and multi agency decisions so attention to detail is essential.
Who We're Looking ForYou might come from:
- A tutoring background
- A mainstream or specialist school
- Alternative provision
- Youth work or pastoral roles
What matters most:
- Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy

- Professional communication skills
- Reliability and resilience
- The ability to work independently
If you understand that progress can look like:
- A student staying engaged for a full session
- Completing work without escalation
- Beginning to trust an adult again
then you'll fit right in.
Why Join Us?- Meaningful, purposeful work
- Consistent daytime hours
