SEN Teaching Assistant

Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm Full-time Long-term Are you a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a supportive primary school environment?

We are working with a welcoming primary school in Culcheth who are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with autism.

This is a full time, long term opportunity where you will play a key role in helping a young learner access education in a way that suits their individual needs.

The Role:

• Providing 1:1 support for a child with autism within the early years setting
• Supporting the child both in the classroom and within sensory rooms and breakout spaces
• Helping the child regulate emotions and engagement when they find the mainstream environment challenging
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow EHCP targets
• Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience supporting children with autism (ASD)
• Confident working 1:1 with pupils who may struggle in a mainstream classroom
• Understanding of sensory needs and regulation strategies
• Calm, patient, and proactive approach
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
