About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Havering, your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 support for pupils with Autism or SEMH
• Delivering targeted interventions as a small group SEN Teaching Assistant
• Supporting children with EHCPs
• Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning strategies
• Helping regulate behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques

Schools are particularly keen to appoint a confident SEN Teaching Assistant who can remain calm under pressure and maintain clear boundaries while being nurturing and supportive.

• Experience within primary or specialist SEN schools
