SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join welcoming Primary School. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the early years of children's education. The role is working 1:1 with a pupil with social and emotional needs 2/3 days a week with the potential of going permanent with the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities with the children
• Provide personal care assistance, including toileting, changing, and hygiene support
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
• Support children's social, emotional, and academic development
• Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and resource management
• Work with individual children and small groups to reinforce learningMaintain accurate records and observations of children's progress

Essential Requirements

• Experience working with young children, ideally in an educational setting
• Willingness and ability to provide personal care with sensitivity and professionalism
• Patient, warm, and approachable manner
• Good communication skills with children, staff, and parents
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
