This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Role

As a Senior SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, personalised support to young learners. Working closely with class teachers, therapists, and senior leaders, you will help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that supports each child's individual development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with complex needs

  • Supporting the delivery and review of EHCP targets and behaviour support plans

  • Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs

  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised learning

  • Acting as a senior member of the support staff team, offering guidance and support to colleagues where required

  • Helping to maintain a calm, inclusive, and structured classroom environment

Ideal Candidate
  • Has substantial experience working within an SEN school or specialist provision

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of EHCPs, early intervention, and child development

  • Is confident supporting children with ASD, communication needs, sensory needs, and challenging behaviour

  • Brings a calm, resilient, and proactive approach to their work

  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Is willing to take on additional responsibility as a Senior Teaching Assistant

Benefits
  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday

  • Long-term position with the opportunity to become permanent

  • Supportive leadership and a highly experienced SEN-focused team

  • A meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact on children's learning and development

If you are an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in a specialist and rewarding setting, we would love to hear from you.
