To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (e.g. , Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification)
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting
  • A deep understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies to support students with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic nature, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and resources to enhance learning experiences
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in SEN education
