Our client, a newly launched special independent school for autistic children aged 5-11, is seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join their growing team in Harmondsworth, Greater London. With a vision to evolve into a multi-site provision supporting over 100 pupils, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expanding organisation.
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our pupils. Your expertise in working with children on the autism spectrum will be invaluable in developing individualised learning plans and implementing strategies to support their academic, social, and emotional growth. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of professionals, including other teachers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
Our client is committed to providing exceptional support and resources to their staff. As part of this role, you will benefit from a competitive salary range of £36,000 - £50,000, along with a comprehensive package that includes a generous pension scheme, ongoing professional development opportunities (CPD), and a convenient staff car park.
The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs, coupled with a strong understanding of autism and its impact on learning. You should have a relevant teaching qualification and experience working in an SEN setting. Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt to individual learners' needs are essential qualities for this role.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the unique needs of each pupil
- Assessing and monitoring pupils' progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers
- Collaborating with the wider team to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and procedures
- Participating in regular staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum in an educational setting
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and strategies for supporting autistic learners
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
