Yate, Bristol Start: ASAP Hours: Full time or part time A welcomingprimary school in Yate is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant toprovide focused 1:1 support.
This role is ideal for someone with strong SENexperience who is passionate about helping pupils access learning in a supportive, structured environment.
Role Overview- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies
- Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
- Support classroom routines, transitions and small group work
Previous SEN experience is essential. Calm, patient and adaptable approach. Strong communication and rapport building skills.
Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous. Driving licence beneficial. SEN training highly valued, including:
- Understanding Autism
- ADHD Awareness
- Team Teach / De escalation Training
- Trauma Informed Practice
- BSL or communication based training
- Makaton (highly desirable for supporting communication needs)
- Supportive, collaborative school environment
- Access to ongoing SEN focused CPD
