We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Primary Teacher to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) team, working with a small class of four students with emotional and behavioural needs. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children, working in a supportive environment that values personalised learning.The Role:As the Primary Teacher in our SEN class, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of your students. The class consists of four students who may face emotional and behavioural challenges, requiring a calm, structured, and nurturing approach to teaching. You will help these students build emotional resilience, manage their behaviour, and engage with their learning in a positive, safe, and supportive environment.Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver a personalised curriculum focused on the National Curriculum, with an emphasis on literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.Provide individualised support for students with emotional and behavioural needs, using appropriate strategies to encourage positive behaviour, self-regulation, and emotional growth.Maintain a nurturing, structured classroom environment that fosters a sense of safety and belonging.Use effective behavioural management strategies, including de-escalation techniques and restorative practices, to support students' emotional and behavioural needs.Develop and track individual learning plans (ILPs), monitoring progress and setting achievable goals.Work closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to implement interventions and support student development.Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress, behaviour, and well-being.Ensure compliance with safeguarding and school policies regarding health, safety, and SEND provision.What We're Looking For:A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent, with experience in teaching primary-aged children, ideally in an SEN setting.Experience working with children who exhibit emotional and behavioural challenges, or those with special educational needs.A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to teaching, with a strong desire to support children in overcoming learning barriers.Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, carers, and other professionals.A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.What We Offer:A small, focused class size (maximum 4 students), allowing for personalised, one-on-one support.A collaborative and supportive team environment with access to experienced SEN support staff.Ongoing professional development opportunities in special educational needs and behavioural management.Competitive salary, based on experience.The chance to make a profound difference in the lives of children, providing the support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.How to Apply:If you're an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs, we'd love to hear from you!
