About this child/client

Tom (12) and Chris (6) are bright neurodivergent brothers living in North London. The family are seeking two experienced SEN Nannies/Mannies to provide calm, low-demand, relationship-based support where emotional safety, trust and regulation are prioritised. Tom is home educated following EBSA and has PDA traits, anxiety and overwhelm. He enjoys gaming, technology, YouTube and interest-led conversations. Chris experiences autistic burnout and enjoys gaming, YouTube, imaginative play, humour, swimming and sensory activities. Both boys benefit from calm, flexible adults who build trust gradually and adapt to their changing needs.

Overview of role

These are child-led roles focused on building trusting relationships through companionship, co-regulation and emotionally safe support. You will provide low-demand interaction, sensory support and activities based around each child's interests and capacity. Over time, and as trust develops, support may extend to community activities. The role also includes supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence, home education where appropriate, meal preparation, laundry and light household tasks. Understanding co-regulation, autonomy, reducing demands and recognising overwhelm is essential.

Who this role would suit

An experienced SEN professional with a warm, reflective and adaptable approach. Suitable backgrounds include SEN support, neurodivergent care, psychology, occupational therapy, youth work or mental health. You will be confident building relationships at the child's pace, working collaboratively with the family and supporting children in a child-led environment.

What's great about this job

A rare opportunity to work in a home that truly values emotional wellbeing, individuality and relationship-based support. You will receive ongoing learning, PDA-informed training and collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping both boys thrive.
