Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sacred Heart Primary School for a SEND Lead Professional. We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated and experienced person to join us.

Sacred Heart Primary School is a two form-entry primary school in Tipton for children from 3 to 11 years of age.

Responsibilities
  • Have high expectations and a positive outlook.
  • To complement the professional work of teachers planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil's achievement, progress and development.
  • Responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and/or management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training.
  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupil's learning.
  • Development and implement interventions according to Pupil Passports/EHCPs and Learning Plans.
  • Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to lead, advise and support others.
  • Manage other teaching assistants. Liaise with Managers/SENDCo/teaching staff and teaching assistants.
  • Other duties which may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post.
  • Be an enthusiastic person with a passion for working with children with SEND.
  • Be someone who can engage and enthuse pupils in learning at all times.
  • Be someone who can focus on maximising progress for every child.
  • Be someone who will support the aims and ethos of our school.
  • Be someone who understands the importance of assessment, feedback and adaptation.
  • Experience of working in a primary school and can work as part of a team and independently
