The new SEMH sports focused provision opened in January 2026 offers a fresh, engaging environment for young people who benefit from structured, active and therapeutic support. The provision is committed to building positive relationships, promoting emotional wellbeing and using sport as a powerful tool to develop confidence, resilience and self regulation.

Responsibilities

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support KS3 and KS4 students with social, emotional and mental health needs, working closely with staff to promote positive behaviour, engagement in learning and participation in sport led activities across the provision.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working with KS3 and KS4 students with SEMH needs
• A strong understanding of behaviour support and de escalation strategies
• The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• A proactive and patient approach within a fast paced learning environment
• Confidence supporting pupils both in the classroom and during sports based activities
• A resilient, adaptable and enthusiastic attitude
