Job Description
Overview

Axcis Education are working closely to support an SEMH school in Torbay for pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The school are looking for a learning support assistant to start after Easter on Monday 20th April. The school hours are 9.00-3.10 and the rate of pay for this position is £14.25-£16 p/h, depending on your experience and qualifications. This is likely to be a permanent position for the right candidate.

Requirements and Candidate Criteria
  • Experience of working with children
  • Bubbly, friendly and approachable
  • Resilient and can cope under stressful circumstances
  • A passion for supporting children with SEMH
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with children who have SEMH
  • Level 2 Qualification
  • Level 3 Qualification
  • SEMH or Trauma informed training
About the Setting

The school exhibits a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health and education needs, which can affect progress both inside and outside the classroom. The school works on trauma-informed principles, offering a flexible curriculum centered around the pupils. The aim of the pupils is to become confident, successful, and responsible learners.
