Job Description
SEMH Teaching Assistant - Exeter

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to work in a setting where every child's safety, wellbeing and progress are the highest priority? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in the Exeter area, supporting pupils aged 5-18.

About the role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and senior leaders to support pupils both academically and emotionally. You will play a key role in building positive relationships and helping students develop confidence, resilience and coping strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
  • Assisting with personalised learning plans
  • Promoting a calm, safe and structured environment
  • Encouraging independence and positive decision-making

Key information

Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Start date: ASAP

Location: Exeter
