Security Officer (145jc) - Central London - £38k + Benefits

Our client, a group of companies based in Central London, is seeking two additional Security Officers to join their newly established in house security team. The role reports to the Security Manager and is part of the Mobile Response Team. It requires individuals who can adapt to various situations and maintain a high level of vigilance. The position involves shift based work covering days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, with various shift patterns to ensure round the clock security coverage for our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Alarm and CCTV response - promptly respond to all alarm activations and CCTV alerts at client premises, assess situations quickly and accurately, and take appropriate action as per established protocols.
• Patrols - conduct thorough internal and external patrols at various client locations, identifying and reporting any security vulnerabilities or suspicious activities.
• Locks and unlocks - perform secure opening and closing procedures at client premises, ensuring all entry and exit points are properly secured, following specific client instructions for different sites.
• Shift handover - provide comprehensive and clear handovers at the end of each shift and document all significant events, incidents, and observations in detail.
• Vehicle maintenance - take responsibility for the care and upkeep of assigned patrol vehicles during shifts, and promptly report any damage, mechanical issues, or maintenance needs to the operations manager.
• Additional duties - be prepared to undertake other reasonable security related tasks as required by the business and adapt to changing client needs and security situations.
• Shift coverage - demonstrate willingness to cover additional shifts when requested to help maintain consistent security coverage during staff absences or periods of high demand.

Eligibility and Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence as a Security Guard or Door Supervisor, kept current and compliant with all SIA regulations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the London area, including main routes, landmarks, and potential high risk zones.
• Previous security industry experience, preferably in mobile response roles; understanding of security protocols, risk assessment, and incident management.
• Valid First Aid at Work (FAAW) certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to write clear, concise reports and communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and law enforcement when necessary.
• "Can do" attitude and creative problem solving skills; willingness to contribute ideas for improving security processes and service quality.
• Full, clean UK driving licence (candidates with up to 3 points may be considered on a case by case basis).
• Good level of IT competence and comfort using security software, communication devices, and basic computer applications.
• Preferred: local residence in the London area for quicker response times and better local knowledge.
• High levels of reliability, punctuality, flexibility, diligence, and attention to detail.
• Spanish language skills would be useful but are not essential.
