Job Role: Security Officer
Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 12 hour shifts (days and nights available) - average 42 hours per week
Pay: £13.74 per hour
Location: Pioneer Way, Derby, DE24 9FU
Reporting to: Regional Supervisors & Operations Manager
OverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services for eight experienced Security Officers to join our team at a new Ceva site in Derby. The site is set to commence operations on Monday 18th May 2026; therefore we are seeking applicants who can start from this date. Eight positions are available - four day shifts and four night shifts.
As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting regular patrols, monitoring activity to ensure a safe and secure environment for all visitors and staff, responding promptly to incidents, liaising professionally with members of the public and site management, and maintaining accurate records in line with operational procedures. A strong presence, attention to detail and a commitment to upholding site security standards are essential.
The successful candidate must hold a valid SIA Licence as a minimum.
Duties- Protect the client's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and site specific procedures.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; inform offenders of policy and procedures.
- Prevent and escalating incidents in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner to the Control Room, Shift Manager, Operations Manager, or Emergency Services as appropriate.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Maintain the organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Act as a first line support to customers and visitors to the site, providing a professional and friendly service.
- Understand the needs of our customer, respond accordingly to customer queries and requests, and take appropriate action.
- Maintain professional conduct at all times.
- Full 5 year employment checkable history.
- Valid frontline SIA licence DS or SG.
- Customer Service experience and confidence to handle conflict in a correct manner.
- Flexible to meet the job requirements.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Smart appearance and be well groomed.
- Reliable and punctual.
- High level of enthusiasm and passion.
- Ability to work in a fast moving environment.
