We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Security Officer to safeguard a prominent facility in Newbury, RG14. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and professional environment, and ensuring a high level of security. A robust background in the security sector, proficiency in IT systems, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Role

Security Officer - Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour; Shift Pattern: 3 days, 3 nights, 3 off (56 hours per week); Location: Newbury, RG14.

Role Requirements

SIA Licence and UK Manual driving licence.

Must have
  • Valid SIA licence
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Proven work experience as a Security Officer (minimum 1 year)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports as necessary
  • Resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience within a Corporate Security (minimum 1 year)
  • Surveillance skills and detail orientation
  • 5-year checkable work history
  • IT literate - Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
Main Duties
  • Act as point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors
  • Provide clear information to staff and visitors in person, over the phone or by email
  • Report any issues to the supervisor or duty manager
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Deal with conflict appropriately if required
  • Write up incidents to the standard expected by management
  • Carry out ID checks
  • Be vigilant to health and safety risks
  • Work on own initiative
  • Ensure the reception area, foyer, staff area, and board room are kept clean by supervising cleaning staff members
