Security Engineer - IAM/Digital Identity

• Location: Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite)

• Salary: €50,000 - €60,000 gross per year (depending on experience)

• Employment type: Permanent

• Right to work: Portuguese citizens or EU Blue Card holders only (no sponsorship)

We are looking for a Security Engineer with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) to help design, build, and operate modern digital identity solutions. This role is centred on developing and integrating IAM components, SSO solutions, and secure access platforms within complex enterprise environments.

You'll work hands-on across implementation, operations, and support, collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable identity solutions.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, implementing, and integrating IAM and digital identity solutions

• Building and supporting SSO, authentication, authorization, and access management components

• Integrating IAM platforms with applications, APIs, and customer environments

• Implementing and managing secure identity workflows and access policies

• Supporting and operating IAM solutions in production (2nd & 3rd line support)

• Managing releases, changes, and upgrades of IAM services

• Operating, monitoring, and maintaining IAM platforms across cloud and on-prem environments

• Developing tooling for monitoring, CI/CD, automation, and early issue detection

• Collaborating with software engineers and security specialists on IAM-focused projects

• Participating in a rotating on-call schedule (24/7 support model)

What we're looking for

• Experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM) or digital identity engineering

• Hands-on exposure to SSO, authentication protocols, and access control concepts

• Solid Linux skills and understanding of networking and security protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP/S)

• Experience with cloud platforms, containers, and modern application architectures

• Familiarity with identity standards such as SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, LDAP (strong plus)

• Experience deploying and operating production systems with a DevOps mindset

• Scripting or programming experience (eg PowerShell, Java, JavaScript, SQL, or similar)

• Database knowledge (SQL, MariaDB, etc.) is beneficial

• Strong communication skills and confidence working with customers and stakeholders

• Structured, analytical, and reliable approach to problem solving
