Secure by Design Specialist - SC Cleared

We are seeking experienced Secure by Design Specialists to embed security principles across a major defence programme. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure security is considered from concept through to operation.

The role is suitable for both Senior and Lead candidates, with seniority reflected through scope, autonomy and influence rather than a fundamentally different remit.

Key Responsibilities

• Embed Secure by Design principles across system, software and infrastructure development
• Support delivery teams with security requirements definition, threat modelling and risk assessment
• Interpret and apply relevant defence and government security policies and standards
• Identify security risks early and support proportionate mitigation strategies
• Contribute to security architecture discussions and design assurance activities
• Support the management of technical security debt and security-related dependencies

Skills & Experience

• SC Clearance or above
• Proven experience working in Secure by Design, cyber security or technical assurance roles
• Strong understanding of secure systems engineering and secure software development practices
• Strong communication skills, able to translate security concepts for non-specialist audiences
• Experience working in multidisciplinary delivery teams (engineering, digital, delivery)
