Secretarial Assistant/Typist - Cancer Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Services Admin Team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small but very busy and dedicated Admin Team.

Main duties of the job

To provide audio typing and admin support within the Cancer Services Admin Teams.

General administrative duties to include: significant daily volumes of audio typing using EPRO, printing of clinical letters, printing reports, filing of information into evolve, collect and open all post, prepare weekly clinics by using Etrack to print off clinic lists and file any correspondence within the event packs, answer internal queries.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications
  • Qualified to Level 2/GCSE level or equivalent which includes Maths and English
  • Audio typing qualification or significant recent audio typing experience
  • RSA II or equivalent typing / word processing qualification
  • NVQ/BTEC Level 2 in Business Administration
Experience
  • Evidenced significant recent secretarial / admin / office experience
  • Recent significant experience of undertaking high volumes of audio typing on a daily basis ensuring both proficiency and accuracy
  • Proven experience in communicating with senior Trust staff and colleagues and daily direct interaction with members of the public / patients
  • Experience of working in the NHS in an admin role
  • Recent experience of Trust IT systems - including Careflow, E-track and EPRO
Knowledge
  • Demonstrate evidence of significant experience of customer / patient care relevant to the post
  • Proven understanding of medical terminology - ideally within an oncology / haematology background
Key Skills
  • Can demonstrate evidence of good standards of written and verbal communication, and daily interaction with colleagues / members of the public at all levels
  • Evidenced excellent organisational skills experience
  • Competent in the use of MS word / outlook
