The Information Security & Resilience Team at Unite Students is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic SecOps Engineer. We support the business in all its objectives, from building new interfaces with customers to improving the student living experience. Your knowledge and experience will be invaluable in shaping our InfoSec capabilities.
What You ll Be Doing- Network Security: Design, implement, and manage secure network architectures. Monitor traffic for suspicious activity and respond to incidents. Conduct security assessments and audits.
- Vulnerability Analysis: Conduct assessments and penetration testing. Develop mitigation strategies and track vulnerabilities.
- Forensic Analysis: Analyze security incidents, collect evidence, and prepare reports to improve security posture.
- Incident Response: Lead response efforts, develop plans, and conduct post-incident reviews.
- Security Tools: Manage security tools like firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Evaluate new technologies.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records and prepare reports for management.
- Collaboration: Work with IT, Digital teams, and developers to ensure security integration and best practices.
- Professional Development: Keep up-to-date with cyber threats and security trends; pursue training and certifications.
- Extensive IT knowledge, including cloud infrastructure (AWS experience is a plus), and understanding of secure development lifecycle.
- Proficiency with security tools, firewalls (Palo Alto preferred), IDS, endpoint security.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, VPNs, and security architecture.
- Experience in incident detection, analysis, response, forensic and malware analysis.
- Skills in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials.
- Understanding of risk management, data protection, GDPR, and PII.
- Ability to produce clear security documentation and communicate technical info effectively.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Extensive experience in cybersecurity roles, especially in security operations and incident management.
- Project management experience and relevant certifications (CCSP, CEH, Security+, AWS, Azure) are highly desirable.
