Job Description
Teaching Assistant - Autism

We are looking for a full-time teaching assistant with experience working with autistic pupils to support a range of KS3 students at a large secondary school in Swindon.

Hours: 8:30 - 3:30 during term time. The role starts in September and is an on going position, with potential to lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Support a range of students with SEN/SEND needs, including Autism, CLD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in the implementation of the school's SEN resource provision.
  • Work within a small team and independently to deliver planned learning and support activities.
  • Build and maintain strong rapport with students.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience working with students with SEN/SEND needs, ideally Autism.
  • Knowledge of PECS, BSL or Makaton desirable to support non verbal students.
  • Calm, understanding approach and ability to think on feet and adapt learning to meet student needs.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
