Job Description
Teaching Assistant - SEMH/SEN Support

Hours: 8:30am - 3:00pm, Mon-Fri

Location: Cramlington

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to support pupils with social, emotional, and learning needs in a SEMH/SEN setting. You'll work closely with teachers to help pupils engage, regulate emotions, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support learning and classroom engagement
  • Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Implement individual support plans and EHCP guidance
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage independence
Requirements
  • Experience with children/young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and follow safeguarding procedures
  • Experience working with children and young people with additional learning needs
  • Experience in inclusive and special educational settings
