This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a successful Science faculty. You will work closely with the Head of Science to drive standards, support staff, and ensure excellent outcomes across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Your Role as 2iC Science

Support the Head of Department in leading the Science faculty

Drive outstanding teaching and learning across KS3, KS4, and KS5 (where applicable)

Lead on key areas such as curriculum development, assessment, or intervention strategies
-
Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
-
Mentor and support ECTs and developing teachers
-
Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school priorities

Deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons

Who They're Looking For

A qualified Science Teacher (QTS) with strong subject knowledge

Experience teaching across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

Evidence of raising attainment and supporting student progress

Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues OR readiness to step into leadership

Strong organisational and communication skills

A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
