Scientist II, Analytical Science

• Plan and execute experiments and apply fundamental understanding to analyze results
• Plan and implement projects and take corrective measures when necessary
• Perform a range of analyses to ensure projects are completed effectively and meet customer expectations
• Set up new analytical methods using existing technology and instruments under supervision
• Plan and implement new experiments and provide data for validation
• Collaborate with others to perform analyses and report work in accordance with analytical standards
• Organize assigned workload and assess the integrity and accuracy of analytical data
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment using laboratory best practices
• Use analytical instrument and statistics software
• Deliver technical reports and presentations to internal groups
• Train and mentor junior team members in analysis and laboratory programs
• Provide administrative support for laboratory management

Requirements

• Good understanding of relevant laboratory equipment and techniques (theory and practice)
• Ability to provide basic maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Accountability to deliver the analytical scope of projects
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet customer/business requirements
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions
• Good communication skills and ability to develop good working relationships
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and quick to learn
• Scientific understanding and ability to conduct chemical analysis in relevant areas under supervision
• Knowledge of generic and specific software packages, including analytical instrument and statistics software
• Ability to work standard hours Monday-Friday
• Ability to work in the office three times a week
