Science Technician Full-Time Merton

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Science Technician to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Merton.

This is a full time, 5-day-per-week position, ideal for a skilled technician with previous experience working within a school or scientific environment and a strong knowledge of practical science.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the Science Department, working closely with teaching staff to ensure practical lessons are well prepared, safe and engaging. A degree in a relevant scientific subject is preferred, alongside strong organisational and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up practical experiments, equipment and materials for lessons
• Provide technical support to teachers and students during practical activities
• Maintain and organise laboratories, equipment and scientific resources
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
• Manage stock levels and order equipment and consumables when required
• Support the smooth day to day running of the Science Department
• Assist with the maintenance and safe storage of chemicals and equipment
