Job Description

Axcis Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Skelmersdale. This is a full time position starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a positive learning environment and supporting students of varying abilities. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, prepare, and assess work in line with the national curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics)
  • Plan and prepare lessons that cater to a range of learning needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback where appropriate
  • Maintain strong classroom management and a positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with department staff and the wider school team
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A passion for education and supporting student development
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
