Ara is seeking a scientist with strong analytical chemistry expertise to join our Science team and help shape future laboratory professionals through applied, industry focused teaching.
Bring your analytical chemistry expertise into the classroom and help shape the next generation of laboratory professionals.
You'll be hands on in the lab, delivering applied, industry-aligned teaching and contributing to practical, engaging learning experiences across our Laboratory Science programmes. There's also scope to get involved in course development, research informed teaching, and collaborative team initiatives.
Appointment may be made at either Academic or Senior Academic level, depending on the appointee's experience and relevant industry qualifications. Appointment at Senior Academic level requires prior completion of a recognised teaching qualification.
You'll bring current laboratory science experience, a strength in analytical chemistry, and a desire to share your expertise with emerging scientists. Tertiary teaching experience and/or recognised adult teaching qualifications are preferred but not essential.
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant science field (a PhD is an advantage)
- Strong practical knowledge of analytical chemistry
- Experience that's up to date with current industry or scientific practice
- Hands on work experience with analytical chemistry techniques and laboratory instrumentation
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people
- Comfortable designing and delivering flexible, engaging teaching-especially in analytical chemistry, quality assurance and other lab based subjects
- Willing and enthusiastic to teach Level 3 and 4 human biology when needed
