School Bus Driver

Our valued client in Edinburgh is seeking a dedicated School Bus Driver to provide safe and reliable transport for children and adults with additional support needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's daily lives.

Location: EH16 4BB
Rate of Pay: £14.51 per hour
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 36 hours per week. Additional hours will be subject to time and a half as of week 13
Duration: Temporary Ongoing
Start Date: ASAP

The School Bus Driver will:

• Safely transport passengers to and from school, day centres, and community activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity at all times.
• Provide assistance when boarding and leaving the vehicle, offering patient and respectful support tailored to each individual's needs.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks, maintain cleanliness, and promptly report any maintenance concerns.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with passengers, families, and staff, promoting a calm and friendly atmosphere.
• Follow all road safety regulations and organisational policies to the highest standard.

Requirements:

• Valid UK driving licence with D1 category (essential).
• Previous experience supporting children or adults with additional needs or vulnerabilities (highly desirable).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to safeguarding and wellbeing.

Additional Information:

• This role is subject to a PVG check - new applicants £59, update applications £18.
• Full training, PPE, and overtime opportunities provided.
